Confidential Advisor
A safe working environment promotes performance and open communication. Nevertheless, undesirable behavior such as bullying, (sexual) harassment, aggression, violence or discrimination occurs regularly. However, stress caused by undesirable behavior at work can undermine the desired social safety. This is called psychosocial workload (PSA), and its prevention is mandatory under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Appointing a confidential advisor, establishing a code of conduct, a complaints procedure and a hotline are effective steps to combat PSA.
Appointing a confidant
Appointing an external and independent confidential advisor from our sister organization OffCourse is a good start to increasing the sense of social safety among employees. Our confidential advisors help to make undesirable behavior discussable by acting as a sounding board for employees and the organization.
Today, the confidant is an essential part of a good organizational policy, aimed at creating a healthy, safe and pleasant working environment.
What does a confidant do?
The confidant is the first point of contact for employees who experience undesirable behavior and do not dare or cannot report to their supervisor. He or she provides a safe environment, offers a listening ear, brings calm and helps to chart events in chronological order.

To remain registered, confidential advisors are required to undergo annual training and actively participate in peer review. This ensures that our confidential advisors meet the highest standards.
